Ava & Kaiden
As Kaiden and the rest of the crew boarded their ship, they couldn’t help but marvel at its intricate technology and advanced systems. Kaiden was especially impressed with the ship’s weapons systems, which he hoped they would not have to use.
As they settled in and prepared for takeoff, Kaiden noticed a strange presence on the ship. He followed the faint noises to the cargo hold, where he discovered Ava hiding among the crates.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Kaiden demanded, his fury rising. “You have no business being on this ship.”
“I’m here to help,” Ava replied, her mischievous grin barely visible in the dim light. “I overheard your plan to free this fragile lady’s planet and I needed a ride.”
Kaiden shook his head in disbelief. “You can’t just tag along wherever you please. This is a serious mission, not some adventure you can just jump into.”
“I can handle myself,” Ava insisted, her eyes flashing with determination. “I may not have your training, but I’m skilled in hacking and can get us past any security protocols you need.”
Kaiden did not consider Ava’s explanation, and did not care for inexcusable behavior. “I don’t know, Ava! This isn’t a game. The Zoraxians are dangerous and we can’t afford to take any unnecessary risks.”
Mia and Kael, who had been listening to the conversation, stepped in to offer their support. “I think Ava should stay,” Mia said. “She could be a valuable asset to the team.”
Kael nodded in agreement. “She’s right. Ava’s skills could come in handy on this mission.”
Kaiden sighed, knowing he was outnumbered. “Fine, but you have to follow my orders and do exactly as I say. No arguing or going off on your own.”
Ava grinned and held out her hand. “I try my best, partner!” she said, shaking Kaiden’s hand and whispering. “Thank you for giving me a chance.”
Kaiden grumbled, still not fully convinced, but he knew he couldn’t turn away someone who was willing to help in their fight against the Zoraxians.
“Okay, now that that’s settled,” Kaiden said, “Ava, I’ll show you the ship’s navigation system. We need to get moving as soon as possible.”
As Kaiden led Ava to the cockpit, Mia and Kael followed close behind, trying to lighten the mood with jokes and banter. Ava, feeling welcomed by the crew, started to feel more at home on the ship. Kaiden, slowly warming up to Ava, began to see the value in having her on board.
Together, the crew worked to plan their next steps and strategize for their mission. They knew it would be a long and difficult journey, but they were determined to succeed. With Ava on board, they were one step closer to bringing freedom from this terrible war.
